Fairy tales typically contain magical characters
such, as fairies, goblins, and elves, as well as
enchantments and in fact were not originally
thought of as strictly as children's stories
Young Adult Literature
Young adult literature is written, published,
and marketed to and for young adults, with the
majority of the stories having an adult
protagonist. According to the American Library
Association, young adult readers are between the
ages of 12-18.
Family Saga Literature
The family saga as its name implies is a
literature genre that chronicles the lives and
occurrences of a family and may cover several
generations.
Fantasy Literature
Involves Magic or Supernatural Powers
Fantasy is a genre that usually involves the
magic or other supernatural forms and can take
place in mythical or imaginary worlds as the
backdrop of the plot, theme, or setting.
The Romance Novel
The romance novel is a subcategory of fiction,
which the main plot of the story is a love
relationship between a man and a woman.
The Science Fiction Novel
Science fiction is the literary genre in which
part of the story depends on the impact of
science that may actually exist or be imaginary
and creates the setting for the story.
Horror Fiction Novels
Horror fiction is a genre, which is intended to
frighten, unsettle, or horrify the reader.
Generally, the horror of the story is often the
presence of evil, rather as a spirit, or a
supernatural being.
