Book Printing Source; Understanding The
Publishing Industry
Book
Printing Source is here to help you make an
informed decision when it comes to publishing
your book.
Writing a book, whether it
is a historical novel, or a children's book, is
not an easy task. However, once you have finally
finished your masterpiece, you may find that
climbing Mt. Everest barefooted is a lot easier
than getting your book published.
Publishing houses received on the average of
over 1,000 manuscripts daily, which is the
reason why the majority of publishing houses
will not accept any manuscript unless it has
been solicited, and many will not accept any un-agented
manuscripts, meaning that only a publishing
agent can submit the manuscript. So, how do you
get an editor to read your manuscript and most
importantly how do you finally get
published? The answer to those questions is
first, write the best book you have in you and
second, never give up.
Before you place your finished manuscript in
that mailer and send it off, you have to
understand the book publishing industry. For
anyone who loves to write and loves to read,
join a writer's organization. To find an
organization in your areas, ask
your public library, or inquire at your local
bookstore.
There are several, including Sisters in Crime,
Romance Writers of American, Kiss of Death,
Faith Writers, etc. Though I do not write
Romance, I am an active member of Romance
Writers of America. They are the largest a
national non-profit genre writers organization
of its kind in the world, who provide both
networking as well as support for its members.
